Protecting the Health and Wellbeing of Our Workforce: Health Information and Technology as an Enabler

With no end in sight, behavioral health conditions continue to accelerate in the healthcare setting and beyond at unprecedented rates. Although exacerbated by an exhausted workforce, strained financial resources, a workforce that is leaving in droves, and the continued threat of new strains of COVID occurring on a regular basis, we must unite as healthcare leaders to identify ways to overcome these challenges.

At HIMSS24, the dialogue continued as we identified ways to support those who are so deeply affected by behavioral health challenges in the workplace. By ensuring that digital ecosystem stakeholders are well-grounded in the challenges and opportunities affecting healthcare professionals, together we can and must harness the power of health information and technology to aggressively respond.

Learning Objectives

  • Review the current drivers leading to the behavioral health challenges in the workplace
  • Identify organizational strategies and best practices designed to respond and treat the rise in behavioral health conditions among patients and care providers
  • Examine models that invest in creating and protecting mental health equity
  • Identify transformative technology practices designed to support the health and well-being of our clinicians and patients
